At Mackay Dressler, estate planning is more than just legal documents — it’s about people, families, and futures. Sonoma County is our home, and giving back to this beautiful community is one of our greatest joys.
Our Community is at the Heart of What We Do
We’ve sat at the kitchen tables of families planning their futures. We’ve walked dogs at weekend fundraisers at Shollenberger Park, marched with friends and neighbors at the Butter & Eggs Parade. We’ve shown up for seniors navigating tough decisions about long-term care, and LGBTQ+ clients making sure their wishes are honored. Through it all, one thing is clear: community is everything.
We understand that estate planning isn’t just about documents — it’s about protecting families, supporting your legacy, and strengthening the next generation.
Here are just a few of the ways we’re staying involved
Support for Dementia Care Initiatives
We proudly participate in our local Alzheimer’s Association walks and host educational webinars on these topics regularly. If you would like to join our Walk To End Alzheimer’s Team, or make a donation, go to our team page: http://act.alz.org/goto/MackayDressler
LGBTQ+ Estate Planning Webinar
Leading with education and compassion, we are open to discussing a tailored solution to fit your needs and your choices. There is a presentation we offer a few times per year that details the specific estate planning concerns for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Free Elder Law Reports
Resources on our website to get further information on specific topics related to elder care and aging. Some of these reports include, Putting On The Brakes: How to Help Older Drivers Make Safe Driving Decisions and, A Nursing Home Resident’s Rights.

Local Nonprofit Partnerships
From food drives to volunteer hours to individual donations, we partner with trusted local nonprofits to bring resources and hope to families in need. We dedicate at least 1-day of our year to volunteering at a local nonprofit that needs our support.
In 2024, we served lunch to the lovely people at COTS. In 2025, we cut vegetables and prepared food to be served at COTS.
Our Sonoma County Involvement
Here are a few organizations we’re proud to support:
The Village Network of Petaluma
Attorney Miranda Dressler serves on the board of the Village Network. We collaborate with the Village Network to provide educational workshops and resources to help Sonoma County seniors age in place with dignity and support. We’re honored to contribute to their mission of fostering independence, connection, and resilience in later life. Check them out HERE
Petaluma Education Foundation (PEF)
The future starts with education. That’s why we support PEF’s work to enrich and enhance the academic experience of every student in Petaluma. From scholarship donations to event sponsorships, we’re proud to invest in the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators. Check them out HERE
Let’s Do Some Good, Together
