So this is one of my, I don’t know if I should say favorite, but one of the most sort of aha moments for prospects who are looking to get their estate plan to realize that plans are not just for planning for death and where your assets will go.
More often than not, we see plans being used for folks who are incapacitated. So they’ve had a stroke, or they’re getting into late-stage dementia. Because these plans can really assist the family, support the family, and protect you around decision-making for your health, how your money is spent, and even if you need care, where your care is going to be given.
So estate plans are definitely not just for when you die. They very much are used during life at a time of incapacity.
